North Island All Breeds In Hand Horse Show 10

January 2010 marked the 6th year in which New Zealand's Haflingers competed at the North Island All Breeds In Hand Horse Show.  Colleen McGuiness bought Ashkenaz all the way up from Taranaki to compete, and Sarita Kennedy had her haflinger cross filly there.

This year, for the fourth year in a row, the Haflingers were competing in their own class, and there were 6 Haflingers that turned out.  Ashkenaz, shown by Steve Dawson, Lee, shown by Kelly Anderson and Hannah Comrie,  Oo-La-La shown by Kelly Anderson and Hannah Comrie (who unfortunately came up lame early on but still showed in any of the classes that did not involve running around, Rose D'Amour shown by Petra Matheson, Simon Bell and Kathleen Verry, Restless, shown by Simon Bell, Petra Matheson and Kathleen Verry, and Amber Doll, shown by Sarita Kennedy.  There was a fair bit of horse swapping taking place, which made it more interesting for everyone.  I will attempt to put the correct handler with the correct horse in the correct class, but it was a bit confusing for me.  If I get it wrong, please let me know

A great day was had by all, and congratulations to Kelly and Lee on taking out Grand Champion Haflinger Horse.
